Meet the Team

We are fortunate enough to have a team of experienced and dedicated staff who aim to make your pet feel as relaxed and comfortable as possible during their stay with us.

Matt - Director, Owner and Kennel Manager

If you’ve been through our doors, chances are you’ve been greeted by his smile… Matts passion for every single pup who trots in, and his unwavering love for all things Buddy’s, is the glue that keeps us all together. Matt is a lifelong Northampton Saints fan (don’t try and book him during a big game!), Bourbon lover through and through and an average step count of around 30,000 per day (days off really lets his count down) - Basically the human version of a Border Collie!

We think you’ll all agree — Buddy’s just wouldn’t be Buddy’s without Matt!

Jackie - Director, Owner and Accounts Manager

Jackie is often found behind the scenes, making sure all things work as they should and attempting to keep the cogs turning. Splitting her time between the Kennels and her consultancy job (and attempting to retire but not being able to sit still), she still manages to find time to look after her grandchildren and of course her biggest fur baby, Mork the cat.

Katie - Director, Owner and Kennel Manager

Hard working and dedicated, Katie is a jack of all trades and can be seen doing anything from reception to DIY work. She splits her time working at the Kennels, Grooming over the weekends and her weekday day job as a Project Manager in construction. Wife to Matt she also has the difficult job of dragging Matt in at the end day away from playing with the dogs.

Rachel

We were very fortunate to have Rachael join us when her previous kennels unfortunately closed down - Having worked in kennels over 26 years, she comes with massive experience and a wealth of knowledge. Her energy, humour, and heart make every day brighter – for both the humans and the hounds. Whether she’s covered in fur, mud, or surrounded by flowers, one thing’s for sure: we’re so lucky to have her as part of our Buddy’s family A true asset to Buddys with an unwavered love for all dogs.

Megan

Known as the busiest lady alive, Megan somehow bends time. If she’s not here at Buddy’s keeping everything in check, she’s on the netball court smashing through three games back-to-back (often after a full day of walking dogs), running after horses, walking Rufus (featured in Megans profile picture), or managing the kids’ chaos with superhero-level multitasking. Honestly, we’re starting to suspect she might be Wonder Woman!

Full of laughter, kindness, and unstoppable drive (and probably a snack or two hidden somewhere). We don’t know how she does it all, but we’re very glad she does!

Sarah

From early opens to late night staff BBQs and everything in between, Sarah has been part of Buddys foundations from day one and one of the biggest reasons Buddys feel like home to anyone that walks through our doors. We would be lost without her – and so would the dogs.

Fuelled by coffee night or day, rain or shine - Time doesn’t affect how much of a buzz is delivered in each cup, she runs on pure caffeine and good vibes.

If she isn’t at Buddys or at Home, she is off grid on an adventure in her little blue van, Dobby and dachunds in tow (Coco features here with Sarah) - Chasing sunsets, campfires and probably more coffee.

Andy

A dedicated employee that loves nothing more than being out in the Country side with the dogs (or out on his bike). Andy is 100% of us that would rather spend time with the dogs than Humans, so if you see him around, please don't scare him off :)

Holly

Our not-so-quiet-anymore apprentice Holly joined us on a Level 2 animal behaviour and canine management apprenticeship which she has smashed out the park and now flying through her Level 3. When she first started at Buddys, she wouldn’t say boo to a goose… now the real challenge is getting a word in edgeways (and honestly, we love it!)

Holly has truly grown into a proper Buddys superstar – It has been amazing watching her confidence soar and we couldn’t be prouder of everything she has achieved so far. The dogs adore her, the team loves her and lets be real - the birds definitely love her (she is the only one that makes sure the bird feeder are topped up). Photo with her best friend Lottie.

Eve

Eve joined us on a work placement whilst studying for her degree in Animal Behaviour. The placement may have finished but we are honoured and very pleased Eve still wants to spend as much time as she can here pulling what shifts she can between her studies and looking after Gwen her gorgeous black lab. Watch this space for some canine training course soon available with Eve.

Ashleigh (AJ)

After a career in health care, Ashleigh found her real passion was caring for dogs and has never looked back - She loves engaging with every dog that comes in and is loving the new challenge working in kennels has given her. AJ is also a qualified dog groomer so head to the Groomingtails page to find out more.

Jess

Jess has a BSc (Hons) in Veterinary Physiotherapy and an MSc in Equine performance, Health and Welfare. Around a busy schedule working at Pride Park Vets as a physio, Jess spends all her spare time working with us.

Alyssa

Whilst studying Dance at Milton Keynes University, Alyssa spends term breaks with us at Buddys - Pictured here with her best friend Monty.

Zara

Zara first joined Buddys last year for work experience during her studies. Working towards her veterinary degree, she has come back to Buddys and you will see her around out of term times.
